What is EMDR Basic Training?
EMDR Basic Training is the essential first step toward becoming a fully trained EMDR therapist. This foundational program teaches the core principles, protocols, and procedures of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy: a powerful, evidence-based approach to treating trauma and other distressing life experiences.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a live, interactive, 40-hour EMDR Basic Training designed to meet all requirements set by EMDRIA and to keep you engaged, energized, and fully supported along the way.
Our trainings are offered live via Zoom. At IRIS, we believe learning should be dynamic, relatable, and enjoyable. Our training environment is intentionally crafted to balance education, connection, and a little fun, too.
Throughout this program, you’ll complete:

20 hours of lecture — thoughtfully designed to provide not just theoretical knowledge, but practical frameworks you can immediately apply in clinical practice

20 hours of practicum — hands-on practice of EMDR techniques in supervised small groups

10 hours of consultation — personalized group support to apply EMDR skills in your real-world clinical setting
