We follow EMDRIA’s standards for training eligibility, which include:

• Licensed Mental Health Professionals

• Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professionals
  Must hold a master’s degree in a mental health field and be actively pursuing licensure under state board supervision.

• Graduate Students
  Must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in a mental health field.
  Please note: First-year graduate students are not eligible.

Understanding the structure and size of your learning environment is an important part of trauma-informed preparation. At IRIS, we follow all guidelines and requirements set by EMDRIA to ensure a supportive and effective training experience.

• Lecture: Each lecture cohort will include no more than 50 participants.

• Practicum: Practicum groups are kept small, with a maximum of 10 clinicians per group, allowing facilitators to actively observe and support each trainee.

• Consultation: Consultation groups typically include around 8 clinicians, with a maximum of 10, to ensure each participant receives individualized attention from their consultant.

In accordance with EMDRIA requirements, EMDR Basic Training must be completed within one year of your first training weekend.
Many participants complete the full program in as little as six months.

If an emergency arises that may affect your ability to finish within the one-year timeframe, please contact us as soon as possible. We’re here to support you and will work with you to find the best path forward for your learning and successful completion.

The required reading for the EMDR basic training includes the following materials:

• Shapiro, Francine. (2018). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Third Edition: Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedures.  -- this will need to be purchased by the trainee. 
• Go With That Magazine Fall 2020, Volume 25, Issue 3 [EMDR & Racial Trauma] -- Available inside your training account
• Guidelines for Virtual EMDR Therapy (Spring 2020) -- available within your training account

We believe high-quality training should be both accessible and affordable. Our program is competitively priced at $1,675, which includes both training weekends and the required 10 hours of consultation.

You can choose to pay in full or select a two- or three-month payment plan directly through our site. For those who need more flexibility, Klarna and Afterpay are also available to help spread payments over a longer period (eligibility may apply).

Please note: If you need to make up missed training hours or transfer to a different training date, additional fees may apply.

You are required to attend all 50 hours of training live via Zoom. If you miss more than 15 minutes of any portion you will be considered absent. In the event of a conflict it is important to contact us as soon as possible so we can help you find your best path forward.
