Grievance Policy

IRIS Training Collective

At IRIS Training Collective, we are committed to providing a professional, respectful, and inclusive training environment. We recognize that concerns or grievances may occasionally arise, and we encourage open communication to resolve them promptly and fairly.

Scope
This policy applies to all participants in any IRIS training program, including EMDR Basic Training, workshops, and consultations.

Filing a Grievance
If a participant experiences an issue that affects their training experience—including concerns related to instruction, content, environment, or interactions with faculty or fellow participants—they are encouraged to:

  1. Address the concern directly (if comfortable):
Many issues can be resolved through respectful and timely communication. We encourage participants to first address minor concerns with the involved party when appropriate and safe.

  2. Submit a formal grievance (if unresolved or inappropriate to address directly):
A grievance may be submitted in writing to IRIS Training Collective at [email protected]. Please include:

    • Your name and contact information

    • A detailed description of the concern

    • Names of individuals involved (if applicable)

    • Dates and times of incidents (if applicable)

    • Any steps already taken to resolve the issue

Response Timeline
IRIS will acknowledge receipt of the grievance within 5 business days and initiate a review. A response with findings or next steps will be provided within 15 business days. Additional time may be required depending on the complexity of the concern, but participants will be kept informed throughout the process.

Resolution and Confidentiality
All grievances will be handled with discretion and in accordance with our values of professionalism, respect, and fairness. We are committed to finding a reasonable resolution, which may include mediation, reassignment, or other appropriate steps. Retaliation for filing a grievance is strictly prohibited.

Appeals
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may request a secondary review. Appeals must be submitted in writing within 10 business days of receiving the initial resolution.
