Who is this training for?
EMDR Basic Training can feel like drinking from a fire hose—powerful, transformative, and overwhelming all at once. Some clinicians leave feeling eager to dive in, while others walk away unsure of how to integrate it all. But once you're back in your practice, reality sets in: your clients aren’t textbook cases. Suddenly, you may find yourself feeling stuck, uncertain, or even like you're doing something wrong. You’re not alone. EMDR is a complex, ever-evolving model—and no one masters it overnight.
This course is designed to bridge that gap. Whether you need a clear review of the basics or want to refine your skills with complex cases, this training will help you deepen your understanding, build clinical flexibility, and regain confidence. We’ll explore real-world scenarios, troubleshoot challenges, and show you how to pivot when sessions don’t go as planned—so you can move forward with clarity and competence.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This EMDR refresher and advanced skills training course will focus on reviewing the eight phases of EMDR with an emphasis on case conceptualization. Before delving into these phases, the course will review the AIP model to ground participants in a strong foundation of AIP. Polyvagal theory will also be integrated as a tool for case conceptualization; PVT through the lens of AIP will help participants understand how stress and trauma manifest.
