Body image disturbance and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) are complex presentations often rooted in trauma, shame, and negative self-beliefs. Standard EMDR approaches may not fully address the intrusive, obsessive features of BDD or the deeper layers of body-focused distress. This training provides clinicians with an EMDR-based framework for conceptualizing and treating body image concerns and BDD. Through didactic instruction, case conceptualization, and clinical demonstration, participants will learn how to identify and target body-focused trauma, adapt EMDR interventions for challenging presentations, and address common treatment obstacles.

Course Prerequisites:
This continuing education program is intended for graduate-level professional counselors and mental health practitioners. It is designed for clinicians who hold a master's degree or higher in a mental health field, as well as graduate students actively pursuing that level of training.

This is an advanced EMDR Course, students must have fully completed EMDR Basic Training to be eligible for this training.
