Disordered eating can take many forms—yo-yo dieting, rigid food rules, bingeing, purging, excessive exercise, or simply feeling out of control with food. Beneath these behaviors often lies deep shame and the belief of “I’m not okay as I am.” For many clients, disordered eating develops as a coping response to trauma and attachment wounds, leaving therapists unsure where to begin.
This advanced EMDR training provides the tools to work with this population confidently and effectively. You’ll learn specialized case conceptualization, treatment planning, and preparation techniques tailored to disordered eating, as well as symptom-focused protocols such as DeTUR and Feeling State. The training also explores diet culture, polyvagal-informed neurobiology, and practical strategies for addressing defenses, blocking beliefs, and ambivalence. Demonstration videos will illustrate interventions—helping you move clients toward lasting healing.
